- The Hoosiers put up six blocks in the third and had the Trojans hitting negative for most of the set. Ford put up five kills in the third and Tvrdy tallied four more, but Jager logged six to power the Indiana offense.
- USC led the fourth by as many as three points, 9-6, but a 6-1 Hoosier run was the final transaction needed to put the lead Indiana's side of the scoreboard for good. The Trojans clawed to within a single point at 19-18 but couldn't stop a Hoosier attack that hit .233 with 14 kills (7e, 30att) in a 25-20 win. USC had nine kills with three from Tvrdy and put up three blocks in the fourth-set effort.
