    Nearly Entire XC Team Garners Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

    Nearly the entire USC women's cross country team received 2013 Pac-12 All-Academic honors as Jackie Dion was named First Team and nine other runners earned Honorable Mention, it was announced by Commissioner Larry Scott today (Nov. 20). To be eligible for selection to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

    Dion, a senior, competed for the first time on the USC women's cross country team after running track and field for the Trojans her first three years at USC. Dion had previously been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic teams in track and field, garnering First Team accolades in 2013 and second team in 2012.

    The Newport Beach, Calif. native is majoring in Gerontology with minors in Italian and Chinese and maintains a 3.93 grade point average.

    Joining Dion on the Pac-12 All-Academic team as honorable mention are junior Erica Capellino, sophomore Nicole Davies, redshirt sophomore Katie DeYoung, redshirt freshman Lauren Grego, junior Austin Lundin, junior Erin Robinson, junior Kira Soderstrom, sophomore Natasha Strickland, and sophomore Jenna Tong.
