    Six Trojans Named To The Pac-12 Cross Country All-Academic Team

    Senior co-captain Kelly Owen was one of six Trojans named honorable mention on the Pac-12 All-Academic Team for cross country today.

    Shannon Byrne, Katie DeYoung, Erin Matranga, Kelly Owen, Erin Robinson and Kira Soderstrom were named honorable mention on the 2012 Pac-12 Cross Country All-Academic team, it was announced today (Nov. 15) by Commissioner Larry Scott. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

    Byrne, a sophomore from Newbury Park, Calif., is a Business Administration major; the redshirt sophomore DeYoung is from Dana Point, Calif. and is a Psychology major; the sophomore Matranga is from Sacramento, Calif.; the senior Owen is from Palos Verdes, Calif. and is a Business-Finance major; the sophomore Robinson from Palo Alto, Calif. is an undeclared major; and the sophomore Soderstrom from Winter Park, Fla. is a Math/Economics major.
