The USC women's cross country team will compete at the NCAA Inter-Regional Jamboree (5K) hosted by Sacramento State at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, Calif. on Friday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. The USC runners making the trip to Sacramento are Erica Capellino, Jenna Tong, Nicole Davies, Katie DeYoung, Lindsay Enright, Erin Matranga and Austin Lundin.

This competition is a good test for the Trojans who will be facing some of the top teams in the West. It will also provide a "hands on" experience for the team as the NCAA West Regional will take place at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course on Nov. 15.

Seven of the 19 competing women's teams are ranked regionally. The teams scheduled to race on Friday are: Cal Poly (11th West Region), Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, California (13th West Region), Fresno State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Oregon State (7th West Region), Pacific, Sacramento State (15th West Region), San Diego State, No. 24 San Francisco (5th West Region), UC Davis (6th West Region), UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA (9th West Region), USC and Washington State.

The Trojans have been training since they last competed and took second place among Division I at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif. on Sept. 21. USC will compete again next Friday (Oct. 11) when they take on the crosstown rival Bruins in the USC-UCLA XC Dual Meet in Pasadena, Calif.
