Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Sophomore Iryna Vashchuk capped a fine season by running the 6K race in 20:44.9 to finish 35th at the 2003 NCAA Women's Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Northern Iowa.
Vaschuk, who was the third Trojan in as many years to compete at the NCAA Championships, competed well in a fine field in a very cold climate. She was just five places off of attaining All-American status.
Her 3K split was 10:26, while her 5K split was 17:24. Vashchuk is also a splendid 1,500m runner and will be competing for the USC women's track and field team in the spring.
