Sophomore Jenna Tong set a 6-K personal-best at the 2013 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships held at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento, Calif. today (Nov. 15).

Tong continues to improve with each race as a Trojan, today placing 124th with a PR of 21:42 out of the 225 runners that competed either individually or as part of a team. The Pac-12's Arizona and Stanford finished 1-2 in the team competition and automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships later this month.

Tong became the first Trojan to compete at the Regional since Olympian Zsofia Erdely competed in 2010 and placed 49th.

Teammate Erica Capellino was also scheduled to run at the Regional but has a stress fracture and could not run.
