USC Places 11th At the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships|

USC had four runners post personal bests led by senior Erica Capellino to place 11th at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships held in the rain today (Oct. 31) at the Metropolitan Links Golf Course in Oakland, Calif.
Capellino set a PR with a time of 21:24 and tied her highest conference finish of 48th (44th in the scoring) to lead the Trojans. Capellino shaved 19 seconds off her previous 6K best, but she was not the only USC runner with a strong day.
Junior Katerina Berdousi was USC's second finisher, placing 56th (52nd in the scoring) with a time of 21:30, just two seconds off her personal best. Kira Soderstrom continued her senior surge by placing 95th (77th in the scoring) with a PR of 22.33, a two-second improvement over her previous best 6K race.
Junior Jenna Tong was the next Trojan to finish (103rd, 81st in scoring) with a time of 22:48. Junior Reika Kijima followed (107th, 82nd in scoring) with a time of 22:58. That time was 14 seconds better than her only other career 6K race.
Freshman Jessica Lesser, in only her second 6K race, had a PR of 23:31 to finish 110th (83rd in scoring). USC's final runner was freshman Emma Kao who finished her first career 6K race with a time of 24:26, good for 113th (84th in scoring).
Oregon won the team competition and Arizona State's Shelby Houlihan won the individual title.
