    USC's Strong Team Effort Leads To 2nd-Place Finish At CSUN Invitational

    Trojans' top 7 finishers in top 30

    AT USC: Jessica Lundin (pronounced Lun-DEEN) is beginning her fourth season on the cross country team for USC...2010: Set a 6K PR of 22:06.9 at the CS Northridge Invitational on Oct. 16 to help lead USC to a third place finish...Ran at her first Pac-10 Championships and placed 88th with a time of 23:08.96...Did not compete in track due to injury...2009: Had a stress fracture in her heel and had to miss the entire 2009 cross country season...Took the cross country season as a redshirt, but returned in the Spring to compete in track and field...Placed second with a time of 11:44.80 in the Dual Meet steeplechase race on May 1...2008: Had a solid freshman campaign for the Trojans...She was the only USC runner to compete in all five regular season meets...Was USC's fifth and final scoring runner in the season opener at UC Irvine with a time of 19:48.90...Shaved more than a minute off her 5K time during the season...Set a PR of 18:25.20 and placed 16th at the CS Bakersfield Invitational on Oct. 17...Her only 6K race was the Pepperdine Invitational on Oct. 4 and she placed 26th with a time of 22:43.37...Ran on the track team in the spring...Had a best 3000m time of 10.41.38 at the Trojan Relays on March 1 and a best 1500m time of 4:48.56 at Pomona-Pitzer on April 4.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Lundin is a 2008 graduate of Heritage Christian School in Hillsboro, Ore...Finished ninth at the OSAA state 5K Championships as a senior with a time of 19:45...Took 10th in the same meet as a junior with a time of 20:03...Finished third at the 1A State Championships as a senior in both the 3000m (11:18.76) and 1500m (5:08.58)...Had a PR of 19:34 at the Paul Marimar Invitational 5K as a sophomore....Also had PRs of 10:53 in the 3000m and 4:57 in the 1500m...Was Student Body President her senior year, VP her junior year and on the honor roll all four years...Earned Oregon All-State in cross country all four years and was the team captain each season... Ran at the 2006 USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in Baltimore, Md. and placed fifth in the 3000m (10:53.74) and ninth in the 1500m (5:02.46).

    PERSONAL: Jessica was born on Dec. 20, 1989 in Hillsboro, Ore...Lists her most thrilling moment in sports as when USC won the Pepperdine Invitational in 2008...In her spare time likes to relax with her friends and family in the sun and barbeque...Her favorite food is frozen M&Ms...Some day would like to go skydiving and also would like to visti Australia...Her biggest sports hero is her high school coach because he has accomplished so much and encouraged so many kids with everthing centered on team and having fun...Is a Civil Engineering major at USC...Named honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic in 2010...Is a USC Dean's List student...Chose USC because of the combination of challenging academics, competitive athletics and fun student life...After graduation would like to take a year off to travel.
