HIGH SCHOOL: Tong is a 2012 graduate of Mira Costa HS in Mira Costa, Calif. where she competed in cross country her final two seasons and track all four years...Helped lead Mira Costa to a second-place finish at the 2010 CIF XC Championships...Helped the team place 14th at the Nike Cross Nationals in 2010...As a senior Tong placed 28th at the CIF Southern Section Division 2 cross country race at Mt. San Antonio with a time of 18:18...Was fourth with a time of 18:07 at the Laguna Hills Invitational...Ran 17:27 on a flat Woodbridge course to help her team place fifth at the invitational...As a senior in track and field posted PRs of 2:22.87 in the 800m and 5:00.01 in the 1600m races....Tong ran in the 15-17 age group at the Manhattan Beach 10K and won with a time of 42:31...Was a 4-year honor roll student and a National Honor Society member......Was a member of the Soroptimist Club and Pink Ribbon Club...Volunteered for the Philanthropic Runner's Club and for Lunches with Love. PERSONAL: Jenna was born on Dec. 3, 1993 in Torrance, Calif...Her parents are Joyce and Jeffrey Tong and she has one brother, Jonathan "JJ"...Her father and uncle also attended USC...Likes cooking, sleeping, watching television and going to the beach...Her favorite foods are candy, pizza, pasta, and well...everything!...Some day would like to travel to Europe...She is undecided on a major at USC...Would eventually like to go to graduate school. |
