    Jackie Dion Embraces Service

    Graduating track athlete honored with Trojan Athletic Parent Association Community Service Award.

    At USC: Jackie Dion will be competing in cross country at USC for the first time. Has competed the last three seasons on the track and field team, both during the indoor and outdoor seasons. Has competed primarily in the 400m and 800m races. Had a 2013 season best of 2:22.11 in the 800m race and owns a PR of 2:21.95 at that distance.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Dion is a 2010 graduate of Sage Hill School in Newport Coast, Calif...Placed 7th in the 400m with a time of 58.99 at the CIF-SS Division IV Prelims on May 16, 2009 as a junior...Also competed in soccer and cross country and was the team captain for all three sports...She also was the team MVP for the cross country team as a senior, earning second-team all-league honors. She dislocated her kneecap during soccer season and returned to compete during the track season. Dion was named the Academy League Female Athlete of the Year...She was also the Sage Hill CIF Southern Section Academic Athlete of the Year.

    PERSONAL: Jackie was born on Feb. 14, 1992 in Newport Beach, Calif...Her interests include art and cooking...Is a fan of country music and her favorite movie is Elf...Is majoring in Gerontology and minoring in Italian and Chinese...Her father, Ralph, and two aunts and three uncles also attended USC...She volunteers with Meals-On-Wheels during her free time...Jackie was awarded a Trustee Scholarship...Was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team in 2013 and Second Team in 2012.
