AT USC: Katie DeYoung begins her second season on the USC cross country team...2010: DeYoung had a leg injury and could not compete for USC and used it as a redshirt season.
HIGH SCHOOL: DeYoung is a 2010 graduate of J. Serra High...Placed 14th at the CIF State Division IV Cross Country Championships (5K) with a time of 18:50 to help lead the team to a second-place finish...She was the first of five Running Lions which finished within 60 seconds of each other...Posted a time of 19:20 at the CIF Southern Section 3-mile race to place fifth in her heat and 14th overall...Took 10th place with a time of 19:33 to help lead J. Serra to a second-place finish at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif...Had a 5K best of 18:44 to placed ninth at the CIF Finals held at Mt. SAC...Has a best 3-mile time of 18:26 and a best 1-mile time of 5:19...Was the J. Serra cross country MVP for three seasons...Was a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation.
PERSONAL: Katie was born on February 28, 1991 in Dana Point, Calif....Her brother Scott is a member of the Trojan track and field team and her father also attended USC...Is undecided upon a major at USC...Her hobbies include skiing and going to the beach...Lists her favorite movie as There's Something About Mary, favorite group as Maroon 5 and favorite actress as Jennifer Aniston.
