    June 21, 2016

Led by three-time honoree Avery Peterson, USC women’s water polo has landed a trio of Trojan on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches’ All-Academic honor roll for 2016. A junior captain, Peterson is joined by freshmen Courtney Fahey and Mackenzie Flath on this year’s national academic list for their cumulative GPAs of 3.20 and above.

Now with the third ACWPC All-Academic selection of her career, junior Avery Peterson is cruising along on her communication major, holding a 3.41 GPA. First-time honoree Courtney Fahey tops the Trojan list with a 3.47 GPA and has yet to declare a major. Fellow freshman Mackenzie Flath also is undeclared and boasts a 3.28 GPA in her first year as a Trojan.

Peterson, Fahey and Flath all helped power a well-balanced and dominant Women of Troy squad in 2016, as USC posted an undefeated season and claimed the program’s fifth national championship with a 26-0 run to the 2016 NCAA title.
