USC women's water polo has landed three Trojans on the honor roll as MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athletes this season. Seniors Sara Salamon and Monica Vavic are joined by sophomore Avery Peterson for this year's academic awards from the conference.

This is the second MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete selection for senior Monica Vavic, whose illustrious Trojan career saw her stand out in the pool and in the classroom. With a 3.01 cumulative GPA, the communications major finished as USC's all-time top scorer while also breaking the MPSF record for career goals. The record-breaker also was a senior speaker at the USC Athlete Graduation earlier this month.

For sophomore Avery Peterson and senior Sara Salamon, this is the first MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete selection of their Trojan careers. Salamon graduates with a 3.43 GPA as a fine arts major with an emphasis in intermedia, photography and design and with a minor in business. She and Peterson both were members of USC's NCAA Tournament roster this season. In her first season eligible for conference academic honors, Peterson's 3.35 GPA as a communication major secured her selection as an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete this season.
