The MPSF champion USC women's water polo team has packed four Women of Troy onto the 2013 All-MPSF Tournament Team list, led by Tournament MVP Hannah Buckling. She's joined by fellow Trojan All-Tournament teamers Monica Vavic, Anni Espar and Flora Bolonyai.

All together, the Trojans put forth a dominating performance at last weekend's MPSF Tournament en route to winning the program's third MPSF Championship. Hannah Buckling scored seven goals at the tourney, going biggest when it mattered most as she drilled a career-high four goals for USC in a powerful championship win over Stanford. Another USC newcomer, Anni Espar, scored six goals during the competition. Espar blasted a pair in each game for the Trojans, who beat CSU Bakersfield 21-5 on the first day and topped ASU 11-5 in the semifinals before tacking up an 11-7 win over top-seeded Stanford in the title match.

Earning repeat honors on the MPSF All-Tournament Team is sophomore Monica Vavic, who led USC in scoring with nine goals at the tourney. Vavic hammered home a hat trick in every game to bump her season total up to 71 this season. That count leads the MPSF this season by far, and ranks Vavic No. 4 all-time at USC for single-season scoring. Of course, it wasn't just a powerful offense that carried the Trojans to the 2013 MPSF title. USC put forth a strong defensive stand in each game. Buckling, Espar and Vavic all had a hand in that strong defense in the field for USC, but junior goalie Flora Bolonyai was the anchor as the Trojans' last -- and incredibly reliable -- line of defense. Bolonyai averaged just under 10 saves per game at the tourney, and made a huge stop against an early Stanford 5-meter penalty shot to put a big lift in the Trojans' championship effort.

The 24-1 Women of Troy have earned the top seed into the coming 2013 NCAA Championships, to be held May 10-12 at Harvard's Blodgett Pool in Boston, Mass. USC is looking to win its fourth national championship under head coach Jovan Vavic.
