Flora Bolonyai Grabs Another MPSF Player of the Week Award|
March 17, 2014
Newly crowned MPSF Player of the Week, USC senior goalie Flora Bolonyai, opened the second half of play with four straight saves en route to a 12-save performance in USC's 12-7 MPSF win over No. 4 California last week. Bolonyai's defensive stand helped USC shut out the Bears in the third quarter while the Trojans pulled out of reach. The win kept USC undefeated at 15-0 overall and with a 3-0 record in MPSF play. In all, the Trojans are on a 22-game win streak as the defending NCAA champions.
This is Bolonyai's second selection this season as MPSF Player of the Week and the third of her career. She was named MPSF Player of the Week on Feb. 10 this year after a shutout effort in the cage. She also earned the award once last season and was a three-time Newcomer of the Week selection as a freshman in 2011.
