Monica Vavic Named MPSF Player of the Week|

Monica Vavic was USC's top scorer with 14 goals -- including a four-goal outburst in the Trojans' tournament championship win over No. 5 Arizona State - at the Triton Invitational over the weekend. For her efforts in helping USC kick off the year with a tournament crown, Vavic has earned her first career pick as MPSF Player of the Week.
Vavic had eight goals on day one to get USC into the semifinals, adding another two there before punching in four in the title match. The sophomore also delivered a team-high eight assists in the tourney to help lead USC to an undefeated 4-0 start to its 2013 season.
Vavic and the Women of Troy take aim at another early-season tournament title this weekend when No. 2 USC heads to Riverside to compete in the Lancer Invitational on Feb. 15-16.
