    March 28, 1998

STOCKTON, Calif. - Molly Smith scored each of her team-high three goals in the first quarter to give Pacific a 3-2 lead after one quarter of play, but USC fought back to defeat the Tigers, 12-5, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo contest Saturday afternoon at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.

Pacific's first-quarter lead quickly evaporated as USC scored three unanswered goals early in the second quarter to take a 5-3 lead. The Trojans outscored the Tigers 10-2 over the final three quarters of play.
