BERKELEY, Calif. - Sofia Konoukh scored the hat trick Saturday to lead the No. 3 USC Trojans to an 11-7 win against the California Golden Bears in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action at Spieker Aquatics Complex. USC improves to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in MPSF play while California falls to 6-5 overall, 1-1 in MPSF play.
USC scored three goals in a little over two minutes to close the first period, taking a 4-1 lead. Both teams scored three times in the second as the Women of Troy held a three-goal cushion into the second half.
Freshman Sarah Mix made seven saves in goal for the Trojans.
USC travels to Pacific for another MPSF match on Sunday.
