LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Junior Katrin Dierolf scored four goals Saturday and the No. 3 USC Trojans defeated the No. 11 Long Beach State 49ers, 11-8, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action. The Women of Troy improved to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in MPSF play.

The Trojans played solid defense, holding a 3-0 lead at halftime. USC kept the pressure on and led 11-5 late in the fourth before the 49ers scored three goals in the final 1:58 of the match.

Freshman Sarah Mix made four saves in goal for the Women of Troy.

USC travels to the UC Santa Barbara Tournament next weekend.
