RIVERSIDE, CALIF. -- The No. 1 USC women's water polo team made another winning swing through a busy couple days of action, this time ringing up two wins in another double-header day at the Lancer Invitational. The Women of Troy improved to 8-0 on the year with today's 19-6 win over No. 19 Cal Baptist and a 19-2 win over Azusa Pacific in Riverside. In all, USC had 15 different Trojans get in on the scoring action today.

To open another double day of action, the Women of Troy made an early move out of reach of host Cal Baptist. The Lancers and the Trojans were even early at 1-1, but USC would punch in four straight goals -- two from Ioanna Haralabidis and one each from Stephania Haralabidis and Monica Vavic -- to create some room. A seven-goal effort in the second period of play burst the Trojans to a 12-3 halftime lead, with Ioanna Haralabidis and Vavic both holding first-half hat tricks. In the third, seniors Colleen O'Donnell and Madeline Rosenthal got in on the scoring action as the Trojans moved ahead 17-5 entering the final frame, where freshman Nikki Stansfield provided both Trojan goals in the quarter to wrap a 19-6 win for USC.

Next on the docket for the Trojans was a quick turnaround to take on Azusa Pacific. USC allowed only one goal in the first 29 minutes of action, opening the game with a 5-0 surge before APU got on the board. From there, the Trojans churned out 13 straight scores to climb ahead 18-1. In the fourth period of play, USC's Natalie Lavinsky rang up a hat trick, joined by Jennifer Stiefel and Sara Salamon with their first goals of the game in finishing up the 19-2 victory. Lavinsky was the top scorer in that one, joined by 11 other Trojans in the scoring column against Azusa Pacific.

USC's next action takes the Trojans to Irvine for heated competition at the 2014 UCI Invitational. The Women of Troy open up against Cal State Bakersfield at 8 a.m. in group play to start a run at defending their 2013 UCI Invite title.
