STANFORD, Calif. -- The USC women's water polo team finished third Sunday at the 2002 Stanford Invitational. The No. 3 Women of Troy defeated California, 7-5, in the third-place match after defeating UC Davis, 12-3, earlier in the afternoon.

Junior utility Katrin Dierolf led USC with three goals in both matches. She leads the team with 19 goals on the season. USC is now 5-1 on the season and will begin Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play this weekend with matches at UC Irvine on Friday (Feb. 15) at 4 p.m. and Long Beach State (Feb. 16) at noon.
