2002: Wengst will be one of the top two-meter players in the nation as a 2002 senior.

COACH VAVIC SAYS: "Nina is our top two-meter player and does a tremendous job at that position. She is one of the most physical players in the nation. She has more than one move which makes her versatile at that position. She is a big part of our front court offense."

2001: As a 2001 junior, Wengst finished fourth on the team in scoring with 57 goals...earned All-MPSF honorable mention honors...scored four goals on March 31 in a 21-9 win against Pacific...scored four goals on Feb. 11 against UC Santa Barbara (11-4) in the championship match of the UC San Diego Arena NoGrip Tournament.

2000: Finished second on the team with 63 goals and earned All-America first team honors...also earned Southern California Regional first-team All-Tournament and MPSF first-team honors as a 2000 sophomore...scored a season-high seven goals in the 2000 season opener on Feb. 10 in the Trojans' 12-8 win at San Diego State and was featured in the May/June 2000 issue of Sports Illustrated for Women as part of the "Faces In The Crowd" section.

1999: Wengst earned All-American honorable mention, All-MPSF honorable mention and All-National Championships honorable mention and was a key addition as a 1999 freshman...scored 40 goals (second best on the team) and once had a 14-game scoring streak (24 goals; the best streak by a USC player in 1999)...had 12 multiple-goal games and scored a season-high three goals four times (vs. UCLA twice and Hawai`i twice)...scored four goals at the National Championships.

PERSONAL: Wengst has played on the German National Team, both at the senior and junior levels...took sixth place at the 1997 European Senior Championships...also played with the SV Bayer Verdingen club team, a two-time German champion...majoring in biological sciences...birthdate is March 20, 1979.
