Trojans Wrap Up Third At MPSF Tourney
USC beats Cal 6-4 behind another strong defensive game.
THIS SEASON: Patricia Jancso enters her third season at USC, bringing back her searing shot and powerful two-meter defense to the pool for the Trojans as she enters the year 10 goals away from a career century mark.
2011: Jancso was USC's top scorer with 45 goals as a sophomore... Named a Second Team All-American... Also earned All-MPSF Honorable Mention and was named to All-NCAA Tournament First Team... Scored in 24 different games with 12 multiple-goal efforts... Matched her career high of four goals in three different games... Led USC with six goals at the NCAA Tournament.
2010: Jancso was second on the team in scoring with 45 goals as a true freshman... Scored in 22 different games with 16 multiple-goal outings... Set her career high with four goals scored vs. UCLA and also vs. Marist... Scored eight goals for USC at the NCAA Tournament, including a pair in USC's 10-9 championship win over Stanford... Earned All-American Honorable Mention... Named the MPSF Newcomer of the Year and earned All-MPSF Honorable Mention... Named to MPSF All-Tournament Team... Twice selected the MPSF Newcomer of the Week.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Jancso currently is a member of the Hungarian National Team... Also competed with the Junior National Team, winning bronze at the 2007 Junior World Championships... Won silver at the 2005 Youth World Championships... Also competed with the junior team at the 2006 and 2008 European Championships... Named 2009 MVP of European Under-20 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Jancso graduated from Elte Trefort A'goston School in Budapest... Won Hungarian Cup in 2005 and 2006 and won Hungarian Championship in 2007... Earned silver medals at the 2009 Hongarian Cup and 2009 Universiade in Belgrade... Played club for Eger and Dunaujvaros clubs from 2007-09 and for Domino BHSE Polo from 2005-07.
