THIS SEASON: Comacho should contribute as a reserve 2-meter player as a 2000 junior.
COACH VAVIC SAYS: "I expect Kimberly to play more this year and she should come through as one of our top players off the bench. She has a very good shot and is a good passer. She is also faster and more mobile than before."
1999: Comacho was a reserve 2-meter player as a 1999 junior and scored five goals. She scored two goals in a game twice: against Cal State Bakersfield and San Jose State.
1998: After missing the first part of her 1998 freshman season due to an injury, Comacho came on strong as a 2-meter player and scored 17 goals, sixth best on USC. Her first goal came more than a month into the season and started a six-game scoring streak (with 10 goals overall). She scored a season-high three goals against Western Washington.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kimberly was inducted into the Walnut (Calif.) High Athletic Hall of Fame for water polo. She was named to the All-CIF third team and team MVP as a senior, and Best Defensive Player as a sophomore and junior. In her senior year, Kimberly scored 127 goals. Her water polo and swimming coach was Matt Cherrie, a former USC men's water polo player. Comacho was on the honor roll at Walnut.
PERSONAL: She lists her top sports moment as scoring the game-winning goal in the last game of the regular season against her rival high school. She enjoys sleeping, reading and going out with friends. She is majoring in public policy and management at USC. Her birthdate is Sept. 20, 1979.
