    LOS ANGELES - The fourth-ranked USC women's volleyball team (27-5, 15-5 Pac-12) received the sixth overall seed in the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship on Sunday, Nov. 25, and will host first- and second-round matches at the Galen Center on Thursday and Friday (Nov. 29-30). The Trojans are in the Texas Regional which will be hosted by the University of Texas in Austin on Dec. 7-8.

    The Trojans will make their 22nd consecutive appearance in the annual tournament; the program's 30th overall. USC has won three NCAA titles: the first-ever in 1981, and back-to-back in 2002 and 2003. The Trojans are 66-26 all-time in tournament matches. As a program, the Women of Troy hold six national crowns.

    USC will face Fairfield in a 7:30 p.m. PT first-round match on Thursday (Nov. 29). The Stags were the automatic qualifier out of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with a 22-8 overall record and are currently on a 10-match winning streak that includes a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Siena in the MAAC championship match.

    In Thursday's other first-round match, San Diego State (23-7) will face Saint Mary's College (17-10) at 5 p.m. PT. The Aztecs are on 12-match winning streak and finished the year with a share of their first-ever Mountain West Conference (MWC) championship to receive an at-large bid to their first NCAA tournament since 2001. The Gaels earned an at-large bid out of the West Coast Conference and will make their sixth appearance in the tournament; the first since 2009.

    The other seeded teams in the Texas Regional are No. 3 Texas (23-4), No. 11 Kansas (25-6), and No. 14 Florida (25-4). The University of Louisville and the Louisville Sports Commission will host this year's NCAA championship, in Louisville, Ky., at the KFC Yum! Center, on Dec. 13 and 15.

    USC is one of seven Pac-12 teams selected to the field of 64, this year. Conference champion Stanford (27-3) received the No. 2 overall seed and was placed in the Berkeley Regional. Second-place Oregon (25-4) was given the fifth seed and is in the Omaha, Nebraska Regional. Seventh-seeded UCLA (22-7) was put into the Berkeley Regional, and 13th-seeded Washington (23-6) is in the Nebraska Region. Arizona State (20-13) will join Oregon and Washington in the Nebraska Regional and California (15-15), which hosts a regional at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif., will need to survive being sent to Ames, Iowa, for its first- and second-round matches. 

    The Trojans have advanced to the NCAA national semifinal match in each of the last two seasons and three times in the last five years. USC has hosted first- and second-round matches in each of the last 10 years and has a 10-2 record in NCAA matches at the Galen Center. Last year, the Trojans made it out of a treacherous Honolulu Regional by surviving a pair of five-set matches before they fell in five to the national runner-up Illinois in San Antonio.

All-session passes are $15 for adults and $12 for students, children, and seniors. Single session tickets for either Thursday or Friday only can only be purchased at the Galen Center box office and are $10 for adults and $6 for students, children, and seniors. All tickets and passes are general admission seating. The USC Galen Center box office will open approximately 90 minutes before the first match on Thursday and at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
