Volleyball's April Ross Named Pac-10 Player of the Week|

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC women's volleyball outside hitter April Ross has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 13-19, commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Ross, a senior from Newport Beach, Calif., led the Women of Troy to wins over No. 7 Stanford and No. 5 California by averaging a .383 hitting percentage, collecting 38 kills (4.75 kpg), 26 digs (3.25 dpg), eight blocks, and three aces. She contributed a total of 45.5 points (5.69 points per game) in the two matches. In a sweep of Stanford, Ross hit .607 and tallied 18 kills. Against Cal she posted a season-high 20 kills, and collected 17 digs. In addition, she was vital down the stretch for the Women of Troy. In the decisive fifh game, she recorded nine kills, hit .818, and scored five of USC's final six points to beat Cal and remain undefeated.
The Women of Troy extended their win streak to 30 in a row, and have won 27 straight road games. By defeating No. 5 California and No. 7 Stanford, USC has now beaten eight ranked opponents this season, including seven in the top 10.
This is the third weekly award for Ross all-time, her first this year, and the 32nd for USC all-time.
