    Lauren Williams of the women's volleyball team and Daniel Nguyen of the men's tennis team were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Oct. 10) for the week of October 3-9.

    Lauren Williams: Women's Volleyball: Senior All-America middle blocker Lauren Williams had 11 kills while hitting .588 Friday as the No. 5 USC women's volleyball team earned a sweep at Arizona (27-25, 25-21, 25-19). She followed up the next night with 12 kills and a season-high seven blocks (two solo, five assisted) while hitting .407 (12-1-27 in a 3-1 win over ASU. USC now stands in first place in the Pac-12 Conference standings with an 8-1 record. USC is now 13-3 on the season after its eighth-straight win and recording the longest win streak (eight) in conference play since the 2003 national championship season when the Women of Troy were a perfect 18-0. The Trojans jumped to No. 3 in this week's AVCA Coaches Poll.

    Daniel Nguyen: Men's Tennis: Senior men's tennis player Daniel Nguyen wrapped up his strong run at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday in Tulsa, Okla. Nguyen's win streak carried him into the main draw semifinals, where he took his first loss of the season. The No. 16 Nguyen forced his way into the final four of the All-American beating Texas A&M's Alexis Kelgou 6-2, 6-0 to move into the semifinals. Nguyen would take on a newcomer to the collegiate scene in Virginia freshman Mitchell Frank in the semis. Frank got an early advantage on Nguyen and registered a 6-4, 6-2 win to wrap up the Trojan's impressive All-American efforts in Tulsa.
