    LOS ANGELES - Women's volleyball outside hitter Ebony Nwanebu and men's water polo driver Kostas Genidounias were named USC Student-Athletes of the Week for September 23-29.

    Women's Student-Athlete of the Week: Freshman OH Ebony Nwanebu powered the Trojan offense to a big win over No. 11-ranked crosstown rival UCLA as she posted 17 kills (4e, 31att) and a .419 hitting percentage. She added two blocks and a dig and led the way with 18.0 points. In her first league road match, she maintained her attack prowess to log nine kills (2e, 17att) for a .412 hitting percentage. On the weekend, she put up 26 kills (3.71 kps) and hit an incredible .417 from the right side for 4.00 pps. For her outstanding performances, Nwanebu was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.

    Men's Student-Athlete of the Week:Junior driver Kostas Genidounias led the Trojans in scoring in both games of USC's home-opening doubleheader. The junior nailed a hat trick in USC's 22-4 win over No. 11 Princeton before turning around and scoring four for the Trojans in a 23-2 win over Whittier. The scoring onslaught from Genidounias bumped him up to the No. 15 all-time scoring slot at USC, as he now hold 132 career goals thanks to 33 goals scored this season.
