WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC junior All-America outside hitter Alex Jupiter (Paris, France/Redondo Union HS) was named Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 30 - Sept. 5, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Jupiter helped the then-No. 10 Women of Troy go 3-0 at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic over the weekend and claim the tournament title.

She was named most outstanding player for the tournament, averaging 4.45 kills per game and 0.91 blocks per game with a .300 hitting percentage and four aces. Included in the three wins in Honolulu, Jupiter tallied 22 kills and 16 digs in the five-set upset of then-No. 4 Hawai'i (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 15-7) in front of a crowd of nearly 8,000 fans. Jupiter also led USC to three-set victories over New Mexico and Michigan State to open the tournament in Hawaii.

Jupiter earns Pac-10 Player of the Week for the first time in her career, and it is the 45th for USC all-time.

The No. 8 Trojans play just one match this week, hosting Virginia on Friday, Sept. 10 at Galen Center.
