LOS ANGELES - The USC women's volleyball team will now open its 2014 Pac-12 schedule at home in Galen Center against crosstown rival UCLA on Sept. 23 (Tuesday) following an agreement between head coaches Mick Haley and Mike Sealy to switch home matches. The Women of Troy will then close the regular season with four straight road contests including its season finale against UCLA at Pauley Pavilion on Nov. 28 (Friday).
The schedule previously had USC set to play in Westwood in September and conclude the regular season at home in November, but due to a July 29 water main break on Sunset Blvd., each of the Bruins' two home venues (Pauley Pavilion and the John Wooden Center) sustained flood damage that has forced UCLA to seek alternative locations to play home matches to begin the 2014 season.
The Pac-12 Networks will carry USC's home match against UCLA live at 8 p.m. PT on Sept. 23 while ESPNU will broadcast the match at Pauley Pavilion on Nov. 28 at 8:30 p.m. PT.
USC's Senior Night, which will honor Hayley Crone, Hannah Schraer, and Emily Young, will now take place on Friday, Nov. 14, at Galen Center when the Trojans face California. The team will also face Stanford (Wednesday, Nov. 12) that week in conjunction with Trojan Family Weekend on campus.
The Trojans break the seal on 2014 on the road at the Community Bankers Volleyball Classic hosted by Pacific in Stockton, Calif., next Friday (Aug. 29). USC takes on Rider at 5 p.m. PT at the Spanos Center and will face Arkansas-Little Rock (10 a.m.) and the host Tigers (7 p.m.) on Saturday, Aug. 30. All matches will be streamed live on the West Coast Conference's digital network at www.TheW.tv.
