    USA Remains Undefeated in Pool Play with Sweep of Serbia

    Former USC standout libero Nicole Davis led all players with 13 digs and helped the top-ranked USA women's volleyball team (4-0) to a sweep of No. 7 Serbia (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) on Friday (Aug. 3). The victory kept the Americans undefeated and clinched the top spot in Pool B with just one more prelim match on the schedule.

    The USA will face eighth-ranked Turkey (2-2) in its final prelim match at noon PT on Sunday, Aug. 5. The Turkish earned victories over Serbia and Korea, but lost to Brazil and China in pool play.

    Elimination rounds begin on Tuesday, Aug. 7. USA is seeking its first-ever gold medal in women's volleyball.

    Davis, who helped USC capture the 2002 and 2003 NCAA titles, is appearing in her second Olympics. She and her USA teammates won a silver medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
