LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's volleyball program has been picked second in the 2007 Pac-10 Conference coaches' poll released today. USC received one first-place vote behind Stanford, which garnered eight of 10 possible top votes.
UCLA was picked to finish third in the poll, followed by Washington, California, Arizona, Oregon, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington State.
USC returns 10 letterwinners, including five seniors, from last year's squad that went 27-5 and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The 2007 squad features a recruiting class that was rated No. 3 in the nation by Volleyball Magazine, including four Fab 50 players.
The Trojans will host the Trojan Invitational (Aug. 24-25) to open the season with USC facing Michigan State at the Galen Center in a 7 p.m. match. The USC-Michigan State match, along with all home matches this season, will be broadcast live on TrojanTV All-Access.
