LOS ANGELES -- Spring practice is underway for the USC women's volleyball program as the Women of Troy look to absorb the loss of three All-Americans (Alex Jupiter, Kendall Bateman and Lauren Williams) for the 2012 season. Head coach Mick Haley is happy so far with the tempo in the gym.

"The training has been good as Natalie Hagglund, Katie Fuller and Erin Yoder have done a good job taking over the leadership roles of the team. Sara Shaw has shown a lot of improvement, along with our middle blockers Hannah Schraer and Alexis Olgard. Emily Young has been impressive attacking from the right side and Hayley Crone has stepped into the setting role quite nicely so far."

"With the seniors gone, we have moved forward. There are battles for the outside hitting positions and when the freshmen come on board, there will be battles for the starting middle blocking positions. Natasa Siljkovic is switching from middle blocker to the right side and we will see what position best works for her. The practices have been ferocious with no one backing down. We love the effort of this team so far."
