    USC Women's Volleyball Falls at Washington State in Five

    PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State kept its 1997 perfect by battling to a 3-2 (16-14, 15-11, 3-15, 12-15, 15-10) victory over Southern California on Friday night at Bohler Gym.

    The Cougars improved to 15-0 on the season (3-0 Pac-10), handing USC (9-1, 2-1) its first setback of the season.

    USC was paced by Jasmina Marinkovic's 26 kills, while Jennifer Kessy had 22. Antoinnete Polk and Kashi Cormier added 13 kills each for the Trojans.

    Jennifer Canevari led a balanced attack for the Cougars with 15 kills, while Jennifer Stinson had 14, Keren Oigman 13, Shannon Wyckoff 12 and Wendy Rouse 11.

    The Trojans continue their Pac-10 road swing against Washington in Seattle on Saturday (Sept. 27).
