    USC Sweeps San Diego State

    SAN DIEGO --- The USC women's volleyball team completed its 7-match preseason schedule undefeated when it downed host San Diego State, 15-8, 15-8, 15-6, in front of 558 at Cox Arena on Thursday night.

    Junior middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic hit a blistering .609 with 17 kills and junior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy added 14 kills to lead USC to victory.

    Once again, USC shackled the opposition's offense, holding the Aztecs (5-2) to a hitting percentage of only .082. The Women of Troy (7-0) also outblocked San Diego State, 15-5, led by Marinkovic's 8 blocks and junior middle blocker Alaina Kipps' 6. Kipps also added 9 kills.

    USC doesn't play again until Sept. 19 and 20 when it opens Pac-10 play by hosting Arizona State and Arizona, respectively, at the North Gym. Both matches are at 7 p.m.
