    No. 6 USC Beats Oregon in Sweep

    EUGENE, Ore. -- Behind a match-high 12 kills from junior middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic and 9 kills apiece from freshmen outside hitters Antoinette Polk and Kashi Cormier, the No. 6 USC women's volleyball team defeated host Oregon, 15-3, 15-8, 15-8, in front of 620 fans at McArthur Court.

    USC improved to 12-2 overall and 5-2 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Oregon dropped to 7-10, 0-6. It was the Women of Troyís 14th consecutive win over the Ducks. It was Oregonís eighth straight loss after starting the year 7-2.. Junior outside hitter Sara Stephen had a match-high 12 digs and junior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy had 8 kills and 3 service aces. Marinkovic hit .524 (12-1-21) for the match.

    USC outhit Oregon .320 to .055 and outblocked the Ducks, 9-4. The Women of Troy next take on Oregon State on Friday night (Oct. 10) at 7:30 p.m. in Corvallis. The match will be televised live on FOX Sports Net.
