No. 3 USC Registers Another Sweep Against Colorado|

LOS ANGELES - The No. 3 USC women's volleyball team hit .371 on Saturday for the 3-0 sweep of the Colorado Buffaloes (25-18, 25-14, 25-17) for its 12th consecutive victory. Senior All-America outside hitter Alex Jupiter produced a team-high nine kills while hitting .333 with 12 digs, two aces and two solo blocks as USC improved to 17-3 on the season, 12-1 in conference play.
Kerra Schroeder led Colorado (5-16, 0-13) with 10 kills, three aces, four digs and three blocks. Alyssa Valentine had 13 assists with six digs.
Katie Fuller chipped in eight kills for the Women of Troy while sophomore middle blocker Alexis Olgard had five kills against no errors to hit .833 (5-0-6) in the match. Kendall Bateman registered 29 assists and three digs while Natalie Hagglund had 15 assists.
Jupiter produced back-to-back aces in the first set as USC took the 4-0 lead. The Buffaloes would come back to tie it at 7-7 before four straight USC points helped the Trojans to take control of the set. Fuller and Sara Shaw had two kills each as USC improved its lead to six at 19-13. Lauren Williams would knock down the overpass to finish off the set for USC.
With Colorado up 5-3 in the second set, a service error helped begin an 8-1 run for the Women of Troy that was capped by Jupiter's solo block. Jupiter delivered from the back row on an attack and Kirby Burnham recorded one of her six kills to put USC up, 19-11. USC finished strong with the 6-1 run to take the 2-0 lead in the match. It was a similar 5-3 start for Colorado in the third set before USC reeled off a 7-1 run. Natasa Siljkovic, who tied a personal best with four kills, finished off the sweep for the Trojans.
USC continues Pac-12 Conference play next weekend with tough road contests at Stanford on Friday (Oct. 28) and California on Saturday (Oct. 29). Saturday's match will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on Fox Sports Net with Gametracker live stats available for both matches on usctrojans.com.
Notes: Alex Jupiter moved into third place on USC's career list for kills tonight, passing Tracy Clark (1,680 kills from 1982-85)...Jupiter now has 1,684 career kills and needs 15 kills to tie Jasmina Marinkovic (1995-98) for second place...with two solo blocks tonight, Jupiter is now tied for fifth place on USC's career list with 108 career solo blocks, tying Stefanie Bodison (1988-91)...Alexis Olgard's five kills were a season high (Olgard missed the first 13 matches of the season)...USC's streak of 12 straight wins matches a similar streak to open the 2010 season.
