USC HEAD COACH Mick Haley
On getting a road win in the Pac-12
"I was pretty pleased. We didn't want to get into a situation where we're like deers with lights in our eyes because that happens on the road a lot. If the other team doesn't spur you to create energy, you have to do that on your own. Samantha [Bricio] really set the standard with her serving and her hitting, but we had great play from our setters and our middles in transition. That was good, and I thought our defense was pretty good right from the start. They hit a lot of good shots that we were able to bring up and transition for kills. We didn't have a sterling hitting performance, but we had a pretty good overall team performance and what I thought was a pretty good game plan. When you win, 11, 15, 15, that's pretty good no matter who, or where, you're playing."
On Samantha Bricio's performance in the match
"Sam got six points with aces, but we scored a lot of other points when she was serving and she only had two service errors. She really forced the other team to have to sideout to get out of that situation. She really dominated the match with 10 kills and six aces. She just took the match over and that's pretty good for a sophomore."
