    Defensive Specialist/Setter


    After being utilized as a defensive specialist, Wilson will move into a backup setter role as well this season as a 2007 sophomore for the Women of Troy.

    Wilson played in 10 matches as a defensive specialist during her 2006 freshman season...recorded a season-high three digs in her collegiate debut on Aug. 25 against North Texas.

High...played for coach Joe Ripp...named Sophomore of the Year and Junior of the Year by the San Jose Mercury News...earned San Jose Mercury News honors in her senior season...member of the California Scholarship Federation and named as a principal's scholar while graduating with distinguished honors...played three years of club volleyball for Vision and was the team captain on her respective squads every year...coached on the 16 and 17 teams by Joe Ripp and on the 18 team by Jason Mansfield...team won the silver medal at the 2005 Junior Olympics in the 17 Division...named to the 2004 Junior Olympics all-tournament team in the 16 Division

    Chelsea Jane Katherine Wilson was born on July 29, 1988, in Hinsdale, Ill...parents are Doug and Kathy...father is the executive vice president and general manager for the NHL's San Jose Sharks...her father had a 16-year career in the NHL as a defenseman with Chicago and San Jose...has two brothers, Doug and Charlie, and one sister, Lacey, who graduated from USC in the spring of 2006...favorite movies are Wedding Crashers, Zoolander and Pretty Woman...favorite television show is Grey's Anatomy...enjoys listening to Rascal Flatts, Mickey Avalon and any techno music...majoring in communications with plans on a career in advertising or marketing.
