2016 Victoria Garrick is a sophomore libero for the Women of Troy.
2015 As a freshman, Garrick appeared in all 36 matches, with 32 starts, and played in 128 of 130 sets… finished with 346 digs (2.70 dps, third on the team), and 22 service aces (second on the team)… reached double-digit digs in 19 matches and set a career high with 23 digs in the NCAA San Diego Regional Final against Kansas (Dec. 12)… also logged 20 digs against Washington (Oct. 4)… had four matches in which she served two aces.
HIGH SCHOOL Garrick prepped at Sacred Heart Preparatory in Atherton, Calif., under head coach Damien Hardy… played outside hitter for three seasons… two-time West Bay Athletic League first-team selection (junior and senior seasons), second-team as a sophomore… SHP Senior Athlete of Distinction… two-time Palo Alto Daily News Athlete of the Week (2013, ’14)… served as varsity captain for two seasons (2013-14)… helped her 2012 squad to the CIF Central Coast Section Division IV league championship, the Central Coast title, and the Northern California championship.
CLUB VOLLEYBALL Garrick played five years for Red Rock Volleyball Club in Redwood City, Calif., under head coach David Huan… helped her team to an 11th-place finish at the 2015 Junior National Championship… played libero for the 16-1 and 18-1 squads and helped her teams to fourth-place finishes in the Northern California Regional and at the Junior National Championship.
PERSONAL Victoria Lane Garrick was born on April 30, 1997, in Chicago, Ill.... parents are George and Lainie Garrick... has two brothers Jonathan (21) and William (17)... brother Jonathan is a pro golfer and was a member of the UCLA men's golf team (2012-16)... grandfather John Panagakis played baseball at the University of Miami... hosted a radio show (KSHS 87.9FM), wrote for The Heart Beat (school newspaper), led an a cappella group, and coached volleyball at the Sienna Youth Center (Redwood City, Calif.) while a student at SHP... majoring in broadcast journalism.
