    Taylor Whittingham is in her senior season as a libero for the Women of Troy.

    As a junior, Whittingham was named a Volleyball Magazine third-team All-AmericanAVCA All-Pacific South Region selection… Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career on Oct. 19… named to the UNI Tournament All-Tournament Team… started all 36 matches and played in all 130 sets for the Trojans… led the Pac-12 in digs (611) and digs per set (4.70 dps)… her 611 digs ranked fifth in USC single-season history and 4.70 dps ranked ninth in USC history… crossed the 1,000-career digs plateau… reached double-digit digs in 33 matches and set a season high with 31 digs at Oregon State (Oct. 23)… recorded at least 20 digs in eight matches… had 18 service aces and 128 assists (0.98 dps, third on the team). 

    As a sophomore, Whittingham received AVCA All-America honorable mentionAVCA All-Pacific South Region selection… Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week (Dec. 1)… Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… appeared in all 32 matches and played in 115 sets… finished with 571 digs to tie USC’s sixth-best single-season mark (Debora Seilhamer, 2004) and had 11 service aces… logged career mark of seven assists at Colorado (Nov. 9) and had a career-high 33 digs at Arizona (Nov. 26)… led the Pac-12 and ranked 42nd in the country in digs (4.97 dps)… reached double digits in digs in 27 matches, had at least 20 digs in 14 matches, and crossed the 30-dig plateau twice.

    As a freshman, Whittingham appeared in 32 matches and played in 74 sets… finished with 42 digs (0.57 dps), two assists, and one service ace… posted career-best seven digs with 11 pass receptions against Northern Illinois (Sept. 7)… had six digs against Washington (Nov. 15).

    Whittingham prepped at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.… started at libero for two years, and played three years on the varsity squad… as a senior in 2012, named to the All-Trinity League Second TeamAll-Orange County Dream Team selection… as a junior, led her team to the second of back-to-back Trinity League titles… named to the All-Trinity League First Team and to the All-Orange County Dream Team… started at defensive specialist as a sophomore… a three-time recipient of the SMHS Scholar-Athlete Award… started on the varsity squad at Mission Viejo High School as a freshman… helped team to a runner-up finish in the South Coast League and received the school’s Scholar-Athlete Award.

    Whittingham played seven years with the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club in Laguna Beach, Calif., under head coach Michael Soylular… helped her team to second place at the Champions at Fiesta Classic in 2012 and won the Champions at Fiesta Classic in the 16 Open division in 2011.

    Taylor Lyn Whittingham was born on July 15, 1995, in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.… parents are Peter and Tory Whittingham… mother Tory is a graduate of USC… twin younger siblings Taryn and Trevor are 13 years old… majoring in communication.
