    After playing as a junior transfer last year, Siljegovic will be in the mix to push for the starting setter chores as a 2005 senior.

    2004

    In her first season at USC, Siljegovic served as the team's backup setter to starting setters Kimi Freeburg and Alli Dillon...averaged 3.52 assists and 0.44 digs per game...played in 17 matches during the season...made her USC debut in the season opener against Georgia Tech on Aug. 27...enjoyed her best performance against Arizona State on Oct. 30, posting a season-best 15 assists and one ace...played one game in the NCAA First Round against College of Charleston (Dec. 2) and collected four assists and a dig.

    Junior College

    Siljegovic enjoyed great success during her two years at Moorpark (Calif.) College...after leading Moorpark to a 17-4 overall record, No. 6 national ranking and Western State North Division title, she was named the 2003 AVCA Two-Year College National Player of the Year, as well as the Ventura County Star College Athlete of the Year...in 2003, she averaged 3.66 kills, 0.96 service aces, 3.34 digs and 7.00 assists per game, and earned her second-straight Western State Conference North Division MVP honor and CCCWVCA Southern California all-state selection...Moorpark compiled a 38-6 overall record during Siljegovic's two-year stay...also awarded the 3C4A Student-Athlete Academic Award in 2004.

    Siljegovic is a 2002 graduate of Royal High in Simi Valley, Calif., where she played varsity volleyball her junior and senior years...named to the 2001 All-CIF Southern Section second team and All-Marmonte League first team...also earned All-Marmonte first team honors as a junior and was named League MVP...led team to the Marmonte League Championship in 2000...played two years of club volleyball for Sports Shack.

    Nevena Siljegovic was born on March 15, 1983, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia...daughter of Gordan and Danka Siljegovic, she has one sister, Una...she and her family defected from Serbia in 1998 and spent one year in Austria before immigrating to the United States in 2000...her father played men's volleyball professionally and was a member of the former Yugoslavian National Team in 1973-76...in addition to her dad, she lists the NBA's Vlade Divac as her biggest sports hero because of the compassion he has shown to the people of Yugoslavia, specifically the children who lost their parents during the war...she is an international relations major who would like to play professionally after graduation and pursue a job at an embassy.
