    With two seasons of eligibility remaining for volleyball, McBride joined the squad as a 2005 junior in July after two seasons with USC's track and field squad.

    USC Track and Field

    McBride was a 2005 redshirt sophomore on the USC track and field team, competing in the javelin, hammer and discus events....set a personal record with a 161-7 throw in the javelin on April 30, 2005...finished ninth at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships with a throw of 138-7...she redshirted during her 2003 freshman season.

    High School

    She was one of New Zealand's top all-around athletes at Avondale College...named as New Zealand Woman of the Year in track and field in 1999 and 2000...played as an outside hitter on the New Zealand National Volleyball team...named as the 2000 New Zealand High School Woman of the Year for volleyball...earned Auckland City tournament team and most valuable player honors in her 1998, 1999 and 2000 seasons...during her high school track and field career, she had personal bests of 178-9 in the javelin, 45-8 in the shot and 5-10 in the high jump.


    Andrea McBride was born on May 21, 1982, in Los Angeles...parents are Diana and Peri...has one sister, Robin...hopes to work for her family business in New Zealand after college...majoring in international relations with an emphasis in global economy.
