    Alexis Olgard Named to USA Roster for NORCECA Qualifier

    The sixth-seeded Women of Troy fell, 3-0, to third-seeded Texas in the Austin Regional Final.

    John Xie (pronounced 'shay') is in his 10th season as volunteer assistant coach for the Women of Troy. He has served as the court coach for the U.S. Women's National Team in the summers of 2012 and 2013, and was a manager for the Team USA in 2014.

    He was an assistant coach for the SCVC 15-1 squad that won the gold medal at the 2013 Junior National Championships and also won gold with the 17-1 squad and silver with the 18-1 team in 2012.

    Xie was an assistant coach at the club level for the 2010 Boys Junior Olympics (gold medal for the 15-1 team and bronze medal for the 17-1 team). In the summer of 2007, Xie served as a court coach for the U.S. Men's National Team and assistant coach for the U.S. Youth A2 squad.

    He has coached with the Southern California Volleyball Club and served as an assistant coach in 2011 for the 17-1 squad that won the gold medal at the Junior National Championships and the 16-1 squad that won the bronze medal. He was the head coach for the U.S. Youth A2 Blue Team that won the gold medal at the Girls' International Youth Tournament.

    Xie spent four seasons (2001-04) with the Impact Volleyball Club and held head coaching duties for the 15-2 girls' team and served as assistant coach for the 18-1 girls' team. He also served as head trainer for SCVC in 2006.

    After playing on the 1999 men's club team at Ohio State, Xie moved to Southern California and attended Cal State Fullerton for two years. He served as a volunteer coach for the Servite High boys' team in 2001 and spent the 2002 and 2003 seasons as the assistant varsity and junior varsity head coach at Fullerton (Calif.) High where the team won their first-ever Freeway League championship both years.

    In 2004, Xie was the assistant varsity and junior varsity head coach at El Dorado High in Placentia, Calif., where his squads won the Empire League championship.

    He played four years at Hoover High (1995-98) in Glendale, Calif. He currently resides in Monterey Park, Calif.
