    After not playing last year, Gilmour will compete for playing time in her 2005 redshirt freshman season.

    Gilmour is a 2004 graduate of Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach, Calif...transferred to Mira Costa in August of 2003, after spending her first two-and-a-half years of high school at Santa Ynez (Calif.) Valley Union High and one semester of independent study (spring of 2003)...a four-year volleyball letterwinner (three at Santa Ynez, one at Mira Costa) at both setter and opposite hitter...did not play as a senior due to illness...a two-time Santa Ynez Daily News Los Padres League first team selection (2001, 2002), she helped lead team to three consecutive Bay League championships...honored as the Los Padres league MVP, Santa Barbara News Press all-county first team and Santa Barbara all-county as a junior (2002)...played club volleyball with Santa Ynez VBC (five years), Manhattan Beach Hotshots (one year) and Southern California VC (one year)...helped lead Hotshots to a third place finish at 2003 Junior Olympics and SCVC to a fifth place finish in 2004...a two-year member of the National Honor Society.


    Kathleen Elizabeth Gilmour was born on June 10, 1986, in Pasadena, Calif...daughter of Tom Gilmour and Kacey Meairs, she has two brothers, Marcus and J.T., and one sister, Rebecca...her brother, J.T., was a former setter on the Trojan men's volleyball team, and her brother, Marcus, was an outside hitter at USC 2000-03...she comes from a long line of Trojans - a list which includes 40 family members who have all attended USC, dating all the way back to her great-great grandfather...would like to pursue a career in sports medicine, but has not decided on a major.
