2016 Elise Ruddins is in her senior season as a middle blocker for the Women of Troy.
2015 As a junior, Ruddins received Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… started all 36 matches and played in 127 of 130 sets for the Women of Troy… finished with 193 kills (1.52 kps) and a .403 hitting percentage (193-38-385), which ranked ninth in USC single-season history… had 117 blocks (0.92 bps) to rank second on the team… completed season with 270 points (2.13 pps, fifth on the team)… also had 63 digs and 13 service aces… set a new career high with eight blocks against Cleveland State in the first round of the NCAA tournament (Dec. 3).
2014 As a sophomore, Ruddins played outside hitter and appeared in 22 matches with action in 76 sets… finished the season with 139 kills (1.83 kps) and a .181 hitting percentage… had 127 digs (1.67 dps), 10 service aces, and 32 blocks (0.42 bps) for 169.0 points (2.22 pps)… Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… recorded her first-career double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs against Washington State (Oct. 31)… logged a career-best 14 digs at Stanford (Oct. 26)… selected to the USA Volleyball Collegiate National team that played in the Junior National Championships in Minnesota in June.
2013 As a freshman, Ruddins was a Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention and was chosen for Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Sept. 16… USD Tournament All-Tournament Team… ranked third on the team with 187 kills (2.40 kps) and held a .267 hitting percentage (187k, 64e, 461att)… appeared in 78 sets… logged 36 blocks (0.46 bps) and finished with 206.0 points… reached double-digit kills four times and double digits in points six times… logged a career-high 24 kills and 43 attacks (24.5 points) against UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 14)… started two matches at the USD Tournament and finished with 38 kills (11e) on 50 attacks… put up 13 kills (1e, 26att, .462) and five blocks in four-set win over BYU in the NCAA regional semifinals.
HIGH SCHOOL Ruddins prepped at Aliso Niguel High School under head coach Peter Butler… named Prep Volleyball No. 2 Senior Ace… as a senior, served as varsity captain and was named her team’s Most Valuable Player… All-Sea View League First Team and league MVP… All-County All-Star Team MVP… during her junior year, she received All-CIF Division 2AA honors… All-State Second Team selection, All-County… as a sophomore, Ruddins was named Offensive Player of the Year and received All-Sea View Second Team honors… as a freshman, Ruddins was named JV Offensive Player of the Year.
CLUB VOLLEYBALL Ruddins played for the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club under head coach Michael Soylular on the LBVBC 18-1 MS team… helped her team finish third at the 2012 Las Vegas Classic 18’s Open… guided the 16-1 squad to a first-place finish at the SCVA Regionals and at the Fiesta Classic… her 15-1 squad finished first at the SCVA 15’s and the Minnesota Northern Lights Junior National Qualifier… also helped her team finish third at LA Junior National Qualifier and seventh in the Junior National Championship Open Division.
PERSONAL Elise Marie Ruddins was born on March 5, 1995, in Santa Monica, Calif.… parents are Holly and Jerome Ruddins… father Jerome played volleyball for Long Beach State… aunt Kim Ruddins was a two-time first-team All-American setter for USC and played in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics… has two younger sisters named Lindsey and Gigi… sister Lindsey is a sophomore outside hitter at UC Santa Barbara… served as a volunteer coach for the U.S. Youth Volleyball League (USYVL) in 2011… also played soccer for eight years; three with the Laguna Niguel Soccer Club… enjoys art and going to the beach… majoring in communication.
