    THIS SEASON
    A walk-on sophomore, Jaime Carroll returns for her second season with the Women of Troy as a defensive specialist.

    2000 FRESHMAN SEASON
    Carroll played in eight games and seven matches in her first season... Finished with an average of 0.25 digs and 0.12 aces per game... Made her collegiate debut against Washington (Sept. 15) and recorded an ace on her first serve... Tallied a dig against Cal (Oct. 19) and Washington (Nov. 18)... Entered the match against Georgia State (Dec. 1) in the first round of the NCAAs.

    HIGH SCHOOL
    Carroll is a 2000 graduate of Medfield (Mass.) High... A four-year volleyball letterwinner as a prep, she spent time at outside hitter and setter... A two-time Massachusetts all-state selection (1998, 1999), she helped lead her team to the state championship as a junior... Earned All-Tri-Valley League honors as a sophomore, junior and senior... Her team garnered the league championship in 1997 and 1998... Honored as a Metrowest News All-Star (1997-99)... Received the Freshman Coaches Award... She attended the Junior Olympic national tournament in 1999, and played club volleyball with South Valley, Metrowest and the Massachusetts Patriots... Also a top student, she was a member of the National Honor Society and was honored as a Boston Globe and Boston Herald Scholastic All-Star as a senior.

    Jaime Lauren Carroll was born on April 12, 1982, in Raleigh, N.C. ... The daughter of Pete and Glena Carroll, she has two brothers, Brennan and Nathan... The family currently resides in Palos Verdes, Calif. ... Her father, Pete, was named head coach of the USC football program on Dec. 15, 2000... Her mother, Glena, played volleyball at Pacific, and her brother, Brennan, is a senior tight end at Pittsburgh... Her grandfather, Dean Goranson, is a USC alum... She chose to attend USC in order to come out to California and also for its athletic and academic reputation... She is a sociology major.
