    Two-time All-American outside hitter Samantha Bricio enters her senior season with the Women of Troy and will serve as captain of the Trojans.

    As a junior, Bricio was chosen to the AVCA All-America Second Team for a second time and received her second-career AVCA Pacific South All-Region Team nod… Pac-12 All-Conference and Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference TeamsPac-12 Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 13)… chosen for MVP of the Bankers Classic Tournament… selected to all-tournament teams at the Commonwealth Classic, the USC Classic, and the Pac-12/Big Ten Showcase… named to the Pac-12 All-Star Team that toured China in June… appeared in all 32 matches and played all 120 sets for the Trojans… finished with 514 kills (4.28 kps) and a .257 hitting percentage, 346 digs (2.88 dps), 84 service aces (0.70 saps), and 50 blocks (0.42 bps)… led the Pac-12 and ranked second in the NCAA in service aces and registered the fourth-highest single season total in conference history for aces… became the Pac-12’s all-time career leader in service aces and the first league player ever to break the 200-ace mark; finished the year with 212… ranked fourth in the Pac-12 and 12th in the NCAA in points (5.24 pps)… ranked sixth in the Pac-12 and 26th in the nation for kills (4.28 kps)… matched USC’s single-match record with eight aces and scored a career-high 32.0 points in a four-set win against Utah (Oct. 11)… served five or more aces in six different matches… produced 19 double-double matches and scored in double digits in all 32 matches.

    As a sophomore, Bricio was named to the AVCA All-America Second Team and was a member of the AVCA Pacific South All-Region Team… chosen for Volleyball Magazine All-America First Team… named Pac-12 All-Conference and chosen for the first-ever Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team… selected as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week (Nov. 4)… named tournament MVP at the Mortar Board Premier and at the Marquette Challenge… started all 35 matches for the Trojans and appeared in all but one of USC’s 123 sets… set a new USC record with 85 service aces in a single season, breaking the old record held by April Ross and Nancy Hillman of 59… her 548.0 points ranked eighth in a single season at USC… climbed to fifth on USC’s career aces board with 128 and reached 11th in career points with 1,115… led the nation in service aces at 0.70 saps and was eighth in the Pac-12 for points at 4.49 pps… set new career highs for solo blocks (4), block assists (4), and total blocks (8) in a match at California on Nov. 1… set a new career for digs with 23 at Stanford on Oct. 30… recorded 11 double-doubles (22nd of her career)… registered at least one service ace in 32 of 35 matches; had 13 matches in which she had at least three service aces and six matches with five aces or more.

    As a freshman, Bricio started all 36 matches as a freshman and played in all but one of USC’s 122 sets… she was an AVCA All-America honorable mention and was chosen to the AVCA All-Pacific Region Team as the Pacific Region Freshman of the Year… honored as the Volleyball Magazine Freshman of the Year and selected to the Volleyball Magazine All-America Third Team… named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and selected for Pac-12 All-Conference honors as well as the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team… named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week (Oct. 9), USC’s first freshman to earn the award since April Ross in 2000… was also named National Player of the Week by NCAA.com and Collegiate Volleyball Update in the same week… named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week a record five times and became the league’s first-ever freshman Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 8)… selected to the all-tournament team in each of USC’s four pre-conference tournaments and was chosen as the Most Valuable Player at the TCU Molten Invitational and the Texas A&M Invitational… led the team in kills (491, 4.06 kps), service aces (43, 0.36 saps), and points (567.0, 4.69 pps)… ranked fourth in the Pac-12 in kills per set (4.06) and led the league with 0.36 service aces per set… recorded 11 double-double matches including 30 kills and 12 digs in a five-set win over Washington on Oct. 26… one of just three Pac-12 players to reach the 30-kill plateau in a single match in 2012… served seven aces in a win over Utah on Oct. 19 to match the second-highest total in USC history… her 491 kills was the ninth-best single-season total at USC and her 1,325 attacks ranked second in a single season at USC… 43 service aces tied her for seventh most in a single season at USC and her 567.0 points were the seventh highest by any USC player in a single season.

    Bricio was the youngest player ever to play for Mexico's Senior National Team as a 16-year-old… helped guide Mexico's Youth National Team to a silver medal at the 2010 NORCECA Youth Championships… scored a match-high 29 points in the 2010 NORCECA Youth Championship match and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player… Mexico's finish earned a berth into the 2011 Girl's Youth World Championships… played on both the Mexican youth and junior national teams in 2011… received the Best Scorer Award at the Youth Pan-American Cup and earned Best Scorer honors at the Junior Pan-American Cup… helped Mexico to a fourth-place finish at the junior tournament and a silver-medal at the youth tournament… named Top Scorer at the 2013 Pan-American Cup in Lima, Peru where she tallied 85 kills, 16 service aces, and six blocks over the course of five matches (107.0 points).
