    The Women of Troy defeated Wichita State, 3-0, in the 2012 NCAA Austin Regional semifinal on Friday, Dec. 7.

    Alicia Ogoms is in her senior season as a middle blocker for the Women of Troy.

    As a junior, Ogoms received Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… chosen to the Bankers Classic All-Tournament Team… appeared in 31 matches, started 29, and played in 109 sets… finished with 174 kills (1.49 kps) and a .363 hitting percentage, which ranked fourth in the Pac-12… led the team with 107 blocks (0.98 bps) and completed the season with 243.0 points (2.23 pps)… reached double digits in kills four times and in points 10 times… set new career marks in all statistical categories including 12 kills and 14.0 points at UCLA (Nov. 28), two service aces at Colorado (Nov. 9), three solo blocks at Stanford (Oct. 26), and eight total blocks at Arizona (Nov. 26).

    As a sophomore, Ogoms was limited to 21 sets of action due to an early-season injury… registered 25 kills (1.19 kps) and a .396 hitting percentage (25k, 6e, 48att) to go with eight blocks (0.38 bps), two service aces, and two digs… collected a season-high eight kills (0e, 13att) with a .615 hitting percentage to go with three blocks in a four-set win over BYU in the NCAA regional semifinals.

    Ogoms played in 35 matches as a freshman and received Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention… started 27 matches and appeared in 102 sets… recorded 146 kills (1.43 kps), hit .334, and had 83 blocks (0.81 bps) to post 199.0 points (1.95 pps)… ranked second on the team in blocks, was third in hitting percentage, and fifth in kills and points… recorded a career-high 10 kills in two matches and had a career-best 13.0 points against Utah on Nov. 9.

    Ogoms was the top-ranked high school volleyball player in Manitoba as a senior… named MVP of the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference… an All-Manitoba Team selection… selected MVP of the Provincial Championships where she led her school to AAAA title… led her team in attacks, kills, blocks, and aces… as a junior, selected as a WWAC All-Star and led her team to its second-ever provincial final four appearance… as a sophomore, led St. Mary's Academy to its first-ever provincial semifinal… received the Athletic Achievement Award… named Top Blocker at the 2010 Elite Volleyball Summer Camp.

    Played for the Cobra Volleyball Club under Phil Hudson and Jon Hykawy… named 2012 MVP of the Manitoba Club Volleyball Provincials… selected as an All-Star in the Canadian Open Club Championship18U Tier 1 Female Age Class Player of the Year… guided CVB to the Manitoba Club Provincial gold medal… earned the 2011 silver medal in the Manitoba Club championships… participated in the AAU tournament on the Canada Selects team… named the top prospect at the 2010 Calgary Prospect Camp… selected as an all-star in the 2010 Club Provincial Championships.

    Alicia Shanice Ogoms was born on April 2, 1994, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada… parents are Laura Kwiatkowski and Joe Ogoms… has one brother, Michael… father Joe lettered in basketball at University of Manitoba and played professionally in Spain, Belgium, Iceland, and England; is a member of the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame (2003) and the Manitoba High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame (2013)… mother lettered in basketball at University of Winnipeg… enjoys reading, movies, television, and playing board games… her biggest sports hero is Wilma Rudolph (considered the fastest woman in the world)… favorite movies are Atonement and Inception… majoring in policy, planning, and development.
