    Cougars Pull Out Win Over USC

    PULLMAN, WA -- In a rather evenly played match, host Washington State emerged with a hard-fought 15-11, 15-9, 11-15, 15-11 victory over USC Saturday evening before a crowd of 1,779 in Pullman.

    With the win, the Cougars improved to 21-4 overall and 12-3 in the Pac-10. The Trojans, meanwhile, fell to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in the Pac-10.

    Sarah Silvernail led Washington State with remarkable 35 assists to go along with 13 digs. Silvernail finished with a hitting percentage of .462.

    Vesna Dragicvic led USC with 21 kills and 16 digs. She was backed by Jennifer Kessy, who finished with 19 kills and nine digs, and Jasmina Marinkovic, who finished with 15 kills.

    USC's Bonny Brunst also played well, finishing with a team-high 22 digs. Janice Mounts, meanwhile, contributed 18 digs.

    The Trojans return to the floor next Friday when they face Cal in Berkeley.
